Join our accessible adult art workshops on the last Saturday of each month.
Introducing techniques, ideas and materials every month based around our exhibition and displays programme.
All workshops charge a small fee to cover costs of materials or tools, which will be available to keep after the workshop where applicable.
Most materials will be included in the workshop. An additional materials list will be provided for participants to bring with them.
A limited number of free places are available to our refugee community and individuals seeking asylum or on low income. Please ask our friendly team for more details.
Natural Dyes Workshop
Forage: Wild Colours with Cath Lewis

In this short introduction workshop, participants will delve into a world of colour on cloth using local plant sources and found objects.
You will learn to source plants for dyes by ethically foraging, using garden plants and by exploring dyes from sustainable natural dye producers and found objects.
We will extract colours with immersion dyeing, direct printing, and simple fabric manipulation with bound resist (clamping and tying) to create interesting patterns.
