Wednesday 30 April 2025 //  by laura.gill

Wednesday 30 April 2025
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

This bilingual workshop invites you to consider what justice means as a queer person – especially as a queer person in Wales – and how justice (or the lack thereof) is entwined with queer history in general.

Luke will present the workshop bilingually and will draw upon his own academic research into Welsh LGBTQ+ language and history to complement the
workshop.

Accessibility information: There will be BSL interpretation

  • Introduction and icebreaker
  • Overview of LGBTQ+ history and the legal system in Wales
  • Word cloud exercise on what Queer Justice means to you
  • Examples of historical Welsh LGBTQ+ individuals and experiences with the legal system
  • Invitation to consider what shape justice can take beyond the law and legal system?

Materials: Notepad and pen

Register in advance for this meeting: Zoom Link

The Queering Wales – Connecting People project is run by On Your Face.

On Your Face is a social enterprise bringing visibility to the LGBTQ+ creatives of Wales through queer cultural events in the rural areas, an online directory (onyourfacecollective.org) and the creation of paid jobs for the community across Wales.
