Shiraz Bayjoo is a Mauritian artist, whose multi-disciplinary practice investigates the social, political and historical landscapes central to Mauritian cultural identity and the wider Indian Ocean region.
Bayjoo studied at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. He has exhibited with Tate Britain, the Institute for International Visual Arts, 13th Biennale of Dakar, 21st Biennale of Sydney, and is a recipient of Arts Council of England Gasworks fellowship.
Bayjoo will be our Artist in Residence this September, culminating in a performance at Glynn Vivian at Night on Friday 21 September, 5-8pm.
