For the next few weeks we will be using PORTRAITS as our theme for inspiration; from looking at the work of contemporary artists, delving into our own collection and our recent Swansea Stories exhibition and sharing ideas for you to create new works at home.
People have always created portraits of themselves and one another in so many different ways. Throughout history and in so many different styles and mediums people have tried to do this. Whether using drawing, painting, Photography, clay, collage, tapestry or even found objects.
We invite you to create a portrait of yourself, someone else in your household or perhaps a group portrait. These portraits will offer a glimpse into this particular moment in time.
We’ll be looking at why this medium continues to be such an inspiration for so many. And how in these times of isolation, it’s our connections, communities and people that can bring us together.
Our previous theme was HOME. Click here for more information.
