‘If this were today, the building framing the picture on the left would be the Turtle Bay restaurant, then a bank which Will Evans painted individually. Opposite would be Pizza Express. The square tower is the newspaper office, and the pale, turreted section behind is part of the same building. Just visible to the rear is the Castle Cinema, more recently known as Laserzone.’
