‘The pre-war David Evans, had a section opening on to Castle Street. It is in the centre – a typically tall, decorated building of the old Swansea. The empty shell next but one up – we are looking towards High Street – is the famous Kardomah Restaurant, which afterwards found a new home in Portland Street’.
